Economic Collapse

economic collapse, disaster survival kits, emergency survival kits, home survival kits, preparedness kits, survival kits, survival tools, survival supplies, wilderness survival kitsI am sitting here thinking about what I would need to do if economy were to collapse. Indeed, an economic collapse is highly possible given the current situation we are in. Your survival should be your top priority right now. I have pondered about how to prepare myself for economic crisis and even an economic collapse that might happen in near future. How near? I don’t know, according to many it will happen in later 2009 and some predict the economic collapse to happen even sooner.

When I think about it, I’ve broken down to few categories that will need to be prepared for if this economic crisis were to happen. The categories are as follows:

1) Physical need. Your survival kits are very important. The most basic needs for survival are water, food and shelter. These are essential survival tools. During an economic collapse, not much else matters. You would want to make sure you have plenty of water and know how to filter them since clean water may not be readily available when this collapse were to happen. With food, you need to make sure to keep plenty of non-perishables such as canned food and dried food since these store well. Example of these would be; rice, beans, canned tuna and etc.. Also, you will need to keep some hygienic products around. Examples of these survival gear would be, toilet paper, toothpaste, extra toothbrushes. Keep some medicine around too. Example would be Tylenol, hydrogen peroxide, cotton swabs and etc…
2) Financial. You need to make sure to protect your hard earned cash and convert it into something tangible and useful. For example, you can buy bottles of whisky just to keep around for bartering. You need to think about the type of things that would be valuable to people during an economic crisis or economic collapse, whatever you want to call it. Even simple items such as toilet paper will be a good bartering item. You can also protect your hard earned money by converting it to silver or gold buillon. Knowing how to buy silver will be very helpful during hard times.
3) Defense. During uncertain times people will get desperate if they are unable to meet their basic needs thus crime will increase as result. You will probably need a doomsday weapon or weapons to protect your family from harms way. My recommendation would be to have one handgun or survival pistol and a long rifle around. Make sure they are kept safe and away from children.
