Survival Kits

survival kits, where to buy survival kitsSince this blog is about survival kits, I thought I would dedicate a post to it. Makes sense, right?

There are a lot of places you can buy survival kits as it is a very popular item these days. With all the talk of the faltering economy and 2012 and all that crap it's no wonder people are freaking out and trying to figure out where to buy survival kits. Most of the places have similar prices and it's mostly a matter of what you like in your survival kit bag.

If you are in the market for survival kits, check out some local venues like the Army Surplus store and Costco as well as other places like Target and Walmart that might have these sort of items in stock. Like I said, the prices are pretty competitive on these. You can also get survival kits online at places like Amazon, eBay, and so on. This is where to buy survival kits in case you were wondering.

The worst place to buy your survival kits is at premium priced retailers like REI. They always charge the most and jack up the price when it's not necessary. Their survival kits aren't of any better quality than the ones at Costco, etc.

If you need further assistance in purchasing survival kits be sure to let me know by leaving a comment.

Economic Collapse

economic collapse, disaster survival kits, emergency survival kits, home survival kits, preparedness kits, survival kits, survival tools, survival supplies, wilderness survival kitsI am sitting here thinking about what I would need to do if economy were to collapse. Indeed, an economic collapse is highly possible given the current situation we are in. Your survival should be your top priority right now. I have pondered about how to prepare myself for economic crisis and even an economic collapse that might happen in near future. How near? I don’t know, according to many it will happen in later 2009 and some predict the economic collapse to happen even sooner.

When I think about it, I’ve broken down to few categories that will need to be prepared for if this economic crisis were to happen. The categories are as follows:

1) Physical need. Your survival kits are very important. The most basic needs for survival are water, food and shelter. These are essential survival tools. During an economic collapse, not much else matters. You would want to make sure you have plenty of water and know how to filter them since clean water may not be readily available when this collapse were to happen. With food, you need to make sure to keep plenty of non-perishables such as canned food and dried food since these store well. Example of these would be; rice, beans, canned tuna and etc.. Also, you will need to keep some hygienic products around. Examples of these survival gear would be, toilet paper, toothpaste, extra toothbrushes. Keep some medicine around too. Example would be Tylenol, hydrogen peroxide, cotton swabs and etc…
2) Financial. You need to make sure to protect your hard earned cash and convert it into something tangible and useful. For example, you can buy bottles of whisky just to keep around for bartering. You need to think about the type of things that would be valuable to people during an economic crisis or economic collapse, whatever you want to call it. Even simple items such as toilet paper will be a good bartering item. You can also protect your hard earned money by converting it to silver or gold buillon. Knowing how to buy silver will be very helpful during hard times.
3) Defense. During uncertain times people will get desperate if they are unable to meet their basic needs thus crime will increase as result. You will probably need a doomsday weapon or weapons to protect your family from harms way. My recommendation would be to have one handgun or survival pistol and a long rifle around. Make sure they are kept safe and away from children.

Survival Kits

survival kits, emergency survival kits, wilderness survival kits, disaster survival kits, home survival kits, survival supplies, preparedness kitsSurvival supplies for doomsday or economic collapse:

I can’t help myself but to feel like that doomsday is coming. The way I feel is largely due to the recent economic downturn that no news media is really covering in depth. I feel that we are being blinded by our media; our media really don’t report the actual number of unemployment while I can feel how bad things really are surrounding us. I can definitely see that everywhere I go: people frown, what happened to people smiling at a service desks? I am now sitting at Panera bread and traffic definitely dropped by over 50% during lunch, in the past it was always packed with business people and soccer moms. So I have decided to follow my instinct, and this is to start getting ready for the worse by making survival kits. I’ve started a list of survival supplies for days to come. You need to build your own survival kits if you plan to make it through this. My list is as follows:

1) water- plenty of it (it will depend on how many you have in your household, I would say average household with 3 should keep at least 60 gallons of water)

2) non-perishable food items (dried food, canned food, rice, beans, salt, pepper)
note: I personally like to enjoy icy treats so I am going to include mong beans as part of my doomsday supplies …you can make great ice cream bars with this.

3) survival gun- 1 handgun and 1 rifle with plenty of ammunition/ammos to protect your family and your resources. Having a survival pistol is also a good idea.

4) silver bars and silver coins/rounds: You will need to buy silver since when economic collapse your dollar is not going to worth anything and you can trade silver with just about anything.

5) vehicle that can carry most of your important items and that is fuel efficient.

Hope this posting sparks some ideas of your own.
